Last updated on August 10th, 2017. Whenever this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) is modified we will signify that changes have been made by updating the date currently displayed in this statement. This policy is always available on the website.

Hub Seattle takes Member’s Personally Identifiable Information (PII) seriously. This policy explains the nature, purpose, use, and sharing of any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) collected via Hub Seattle’s services whether collected online or offline, or when conducting a transaction with Hub Seattle or its vendors and third parties.

Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Hub Seattle (through, the Member Portal and other services) receives and stores PII (including, without limitation, names, street addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses). Hub Seattle may also keep a record of any correspondence. Such information is only made known to Hub Seattle when it is voluntarily submitted or posted.

PII will be shared with third parties only to further the purpose for which it is provided or when Hub Seattle believes in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the rights of Hub Seattle or its Members.

PII will be used by Hub Seattle and its authorized agents only to:

a) to process requests (e.g., answer questions, signing up for day passes, conference room hours, memberships, etc.).

b) to communicate, personalize and administer the website based on stated interests and preferences or make related offers.

c) to place names, profiles, and contact information on the internal member network for connection with other Members and allow Members to make themselves visible on Hub Seattle’s internal network when Members are logged in.

d) to place names and profiles (including social media links and/or individually provided profile information) on the website.

e) to track Member’s presence in Hub Seattle for access to our network based on individual membership profiles.

f) as may, in Hub Seattle’s sole judgment, be required by any applicable laws, rules or regulations.

Third Parties and Service Providers. Hub Seattle services (such as payment services) may be operated by third parties or service providers who collect PII necessary to accept and process orders on behalf of Hub Seattle. PII collected by Hub Seattle is never revealed to others or used by third parties for any purpose not authorized by Hub Seattle. As authorized by Hub Seattle, our service providers will provide PII in response to legitimate subpoenas or other appropriate law enforcement activities.

Hub Seattle holds third parties and service providers to the same high standards used by Hub Seattle to ensure security, confidentiality and integrity of PII. When using services by third parties or Hub Seattle’s service providers, disclosing information, and/or granting permission to collect information, the use of personal information is governed by the privacy policy of that third party or service provider.

Credit card information provided to buy services or merchandise is used solely to determine that this information is valid, that sufficient credit is available to pay for the purchase and to apply the cost of the purchase when the services are rendered.

Security. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Although Hub Seattle takes several steps to secure the information that is collected strives to protect personal information, Hub Seattle cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information. Hub Seattle uses reasonable efforts to ensure that collected information is secure and not readily accessible to unapproved individuals or third parties.

Hub Seattle cannot ensure that all private communications and other personal information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Policy. By way of example (without limiting the foregoing), Hub Seattle may be forced to disclose personal information to the government or third parties under certain circumstances, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, or users may abuse or misuse personal information that they collect from the website. Therefore, although Hub Seattle uses industry standard practices to protect privacy, Hub Seattle does not promise, and Members should not expect, that personal information or private communications will always remain private.

Global Community App. Beyond connecting to the local Impact Hub community, becoming a Member of Hub Seattle comes with the opportunity to connect and collaborate with the global Impact Hub Network. To facilitate this opportunity of exchanging and collaborating on a global level, Impact Hub provides Members with access to Impact Hub’s own social networking platform, the Community App.

In order to create a personal profile on the community app, Hub Seattle will share some personal information with the provider of the Community App, Impact Hub GmbH, Lindengasse 56 / 18-19, 1070 Vienna, Austria. Until Members actively join the Community App, this information will be only available to the responsible employees of Impact Hub GmbH and the employees of Hub Seattle.
